Today, 25th May, 2022 marks the beginning of the Law Week celebration of the Effurun branch. The event which shall come to an end on the 27th of May 2022 is themed “The Role of the Judiciary in Nation Building”

Below are the thoughts of the Mid-West Bar Forum as represented by the Forum’s Publicity Secretary, H.O. Bazuaye, Esq:

“The distinguished Chairman, Executives and Members of the Effurun branch,

Permit me to on behalf of the Mid-West Bar Forum convey best wishes to you as you celebrate your 2022 Annual Law.

Law week celebrations are one of the pointers to a branch’s vibrancy, however, this law week of yours does not just resonate your vibrancy as a branch, but also as very concerned stakeholders of the Nigerian project. You have selected a theme that touches on the very soul of our dear country to wit: ‘The Role of the Judiciary in Nation Building’.

The judiciary makes sense of the laws of the land; giving them the force of law; but we know too well the meaninglessness of laws if there is no independent body to interprete them. This is why it worries us all knowing full well that our judiciary can hardly boast of the key elements of Independence. Hence, we ought to find a way forward. I believe very strongly that this event will help tremendously in that regard.

May this Law Week be one of immense success and may your branch always be a force to reckon with in the Mid-West and the NBA at large.
